The kids are home for Winter Break and you’re hearing those dreaded words, “I’m bored!” Never fear! It’s the Schoolmarm with Charm to the rescue!!! I’ve compiled these homemade videos to entertain the troops with Winter fun.
No snow outside? Follow Critter on his cold, snowy adventures in Just A Snowman. In this video, author Mercer Mayer reads one of his own books for his fans.
If you’re like me, you’d rather not get snow down your collar in a snowball fight. This video shows how to make a pom-pom using scrap yarn and a fork. My 1st and 2nd graders recently used this method to make cat toys for the animals at the animal shelter. Make a pile of them with your little ones and have a warm indoor snowball fight! That sounds more like a temperature I can handle.
Finally, if you have a Science fanatic in the house you can try this experiment demonstrated by my son. All you need is a glass of ice water, some salt, and a string. Watch the video and give it a try!
Have fun and stay warm!
