I’m lucky enough to be at the SDE Singapore Math conference in Las Vegas this week. The flight in was the bumpiest and most nerve-wracking I’ve experienced. There was a lightning storm that kept us delayed in the sky for about 20 minutes and then several bright strikes of lightning – one of which looked like it could have touched the wing! But we made it and everything was fine. A photo of the storm passing over Vegas went viral. You can see it here.
I’ve already met some awesome educators that I hope to connect with again in the future. I LOVE to connect with other teachers. There’s an immediate connection when teachers meet and start talking about their students.
There has been little time to reflect and type up my notes from each session since I’m with a group of educators from my school. We’ve been taking advantage of being in the big city – eating fancy dinners, shopping, and Cirque du Soleil!! I’ll catch up on my note taking soon though. I want to get my reflections up on the blog so I’ll be able to easily find them later. I also hope sharing with others will generate some conversation in the comments so I can connect with more educators.
