As I mentioned, I went back to school this fall to earn my Master’s in Education. It’s not easy. I’m teaching twenty 1st and 2nd graders, and struggling to give enough attention to my own six children at home. Luckily, I’m married to Super Dad and he makes up for everything that I am not.

I had to purchase four text books for my classes. I saved a ton of money by buying my textbooks on Amazon.com. Literally, I saved over $100. The books were in great condition and the shipping was quick.
Here’s something that saved my sanity – even more important than money! I’m the type of learner that learns best through a combination of seeing and hearing. If only school could be taught through documentaries, I’d have two doctorates by now! My Audible subscription came in handy for listening to these textbooks while reading them. With the money I saved by buying books on Amazon rather than my school’s bookstore, I also bought audio versions for my textbooks!
Listening to the audio and reading the paper or digital books at the same time made life so much easier. I’m so tired after teaching all day, that sometimes all I can do is listen to someone else read. I completely recommend Audible. I took advantage of a free trial in which I was given 2 free books.
Now I’ve taken to listening to books during bubble baths. This is my well-deserved laziness! I think it’s time to update the old slogan to “Calgon and Audible, take me away!”
